The publication’s interlocutors said that Trump and his wife Melania hosted Bergam and his wife Catherine at their Mar-a-Lago residence for Easter brunch.

Trump has frequently mentioned Bergum’s name to allies in recent weeks, the sources said.
Representatives for Trump and Bergum declined to comment.

Two sources familiar with Trump’s thinking said he liked Bergum’s measured demeanor and gubernatorial experience. The portal notes that Bergum’s features are very similar to Mike Pence, whom Trump elected vice president in 2016.

As the publication notes, Bergum agrees with Trump on many issues, in particular regarding abortion.
Bergum also was a contender for the Republican presidential nomination, but dropped out of the race in December. After this, Trump hinted that if he wins the election, he plans to appoint him to an important role in his administration.
