The first half of 2022 was difficult for AvtoVAZ, as well as for other representatives of the automotive industry. The plant in Tolyatti was idle for almost the entire spring and started working once more only at the beginning of summer, returning Lada Granta to the assembly line in an “anti-sanction” version with reduced equipment. As a result, in the first half of the year, Lada’s main site employees worked only 58 percent of their normal working hours.
Despite this, the average wage at the plant did not fall. To maintain performance, AvtoVAZ twice postponed parts of corporate vacations to the days before long shutdowns – from December to March and from July to April. The workers were also paid three bonuses of three thousand rubles each, and by May 1 the management had spent 10 million rubles on incentives.
