THE automotive manufacturer from the land of Sakura, Isuzu, focuses on working on the operational vehicle segment in the country. Astra Isuzu Chief Operation Officer (COO) Irwan Nawir expressed the company’s optimism in facing the challenges of the current commercial vehicle market.

Even though the market has declined since 2022, Irwan said Isuzu remains committed to supporting customers and sees opportunities to rise once more in the coming years.

“So, if we talk regarding the challenges we face today, we will follow the rhythm of existing market conditions,” said Irwan in Tangerang, Banten, Thursday.

Irwan noted that the downward trend in the commercial vehicle market, in this case the Isuzu MU-X and Isuzu D-Max models, reached 20 to 40 percent. However, he emphasized that the company remains ready to face this situation with the right strategy and full support to customers. Astra Isuzu sees the positive response from consumers as an encouragement to remain optimistic.

“We will continue to try. This means that our consumers today are still giving a positive response. This means that it must continue, so we must continue to provide support,” he said.

Irwan hopes that the economic situation will improve following passing through political climates such as presidential and regional head elections.

He estimated that although the commercial vehicle market experienced a decline of 20 to 30 percent this year, there is hope for a recovery in 2025. Isuzu is committed to continuing to support its customers and adapt to market needs.

“We feel hopefully more positive next year with a much more stable situation, better hope, this economy is moving better so hopefully the market also starts to rise. We feel hopefully we can be optimistic, yes,” said Irwan. (Z-8)
