- ISSSTE, cradle of the new generations of health professionals
The purpose of training generations of committed, responsible doctors who know how to face workloads, connected to the current reality is one of the objectives of ISSSTE in Yucatan, which carries out viable educational initiatives endorsed by the University of Yucatan, said Dr. Martha Eugenia Montemayor Curiel, medical deputy delegate of the ISSSTE in Yucatan, in the framework of the inauguration of the Specialization Course in Family Medicine of the Family Medicine Clinic with Specialties and Operating Room No. 12 Mérida of the ISSSTE.
The sub-delegate said that always receiving new medical students is a growth opportunity for both parties and a valuable bond of collaboration is always created that enriches the daily service.
He explained that the course will last three years, during which time the students will receive classes in the classroom, rotate through different learning scenarios and have tutors assigned to accompany them in achieving their learning objectives.
He commented that the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Yucatan is the Institution of Higher Education that will grant the respective academic recognition.
“For the development of the academic program, there is the enthusiastic participation of personnel from the Clinic’s health team, particularly Physicians who will be teachers in the different modules.”
“It is important to point out that the students to be accepted had to go through a very strict selection process through the National Examination of Applicants for Medical Residences, complying with all the requirements of our Health Institution and the Autonomous University of Yucatan.”
On the other hand, the training of these doctors will improve the quality of medical care provided in the Clinic’s Family Medicine Services, providing services with quality and dignified treatment, remembering that “We are human beings, serving Human Beings” .
Present at the event were Dr. Francisco Javier Vega Cortés, Director of the Clinic, Dr. Mario Jesús Cuevas Sánchez, Deputy Medical Director and M. en C. Rolando Díaz Castillo, Coordinator of Teaching and Research.
This second generation is made up of Dr. Iris Vinely Campos Ruiz and Dr. Efrén de Jesús Cabrera Rosel. The First Generation that began the Second Year of the Specialty on this same date is made up of Drs. Adriana Dzib Cámara, Oscar Jesús Romero, Samantha Monroy Mendoza, David Ramón Pech Fuentes and Lucía Vázquez Villagrán.
