Joining us today is astronaut Sunita “Suni” Williams who is currently orbiting Earth with Expedition 72. Suni, thanks for taking the time to speak with us.



**Suni:** It’s grate to connect with you! It’s always nice to share a bit of our experiance up here, especially during the holidays.



**Archyde:** Absolutely!



We all know Christmas as a time for family feasts, gift exchanges, and cozy gatherings. How does celebrating hundreds of miles above Earth compare?



**Suni:** It’s definitely unique! While we miss being with our loved ones back on Earth, our seven-person team here on the ISS has created a warm and festive atmosphere. We had a special meal prepared by our amazing Earth-based teams, decorated our station with floating candy canes and makeshift snowmen, and exchanged thoughtful gifts.



**Archyde:** That sounds marvelous! Tell us about the Christmas meal. Were there any cosmic culinary twists to conventional dishes?



**Suni:** (chuckles) While our space food is carefully designed for long-duration missions, we did get some extra goodies for Christmas. It wasn’t exactly a roast turkey,but we had dehydrated meals rehydrated,packaged fruit,and even some special treats likeEri’s space pudding!



**Archyde:** It all sounds appetizing! Aside from the food,what other traditions are you keeping alive on the ISS?



**Suni:** We exchanged personalized Christmas cards with handwritten messages for each other,reminisced about past holiday celebrations,and even shared some of our favorite traditions from our home countries. Like my crewmates Alexey, Ivan, and Aleksandr, I also shared stories about my childhood Christmases.



**Archyde:** It’s heartwarming to hear about how you’re retaining these significant traditions in such a foreign environment. what message do you have for people celebrating back on earth?



**Suni:** I hope everyone has a joyful and peaceful Christmas. While we may be physically separated, the spirit of fellowship, kindness, and love transcends even the vastness of space.
