Israel’s Intensive Attack on Southern Lebanon
At least 100 people have been killed and more than 400 others injured in intensive Israeli airstrikes targeting several areas in Lebanon since Monday (23/9) morning. Children, women and medical workers were among those injured in the attacks.
As reported by Anadolu, Tuesday (24/9), the Israeli army said it had launched more than 300 airstrikes in Lebanon since early morning, marking the heaviest bombardment since the start of hostilities on October 8.
Fighter jets struck areas and valleys between the towns of Ansar and Zrariyeh in Nabatieh in southern Lebanon, the state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported. The strikes targeted several other areas, including Wa’ba, Jibchit, Sharqia, Al-Namiriyeh, the edge of Kfar Tebnit, Nabatiyeh El Faouqa and Deir El Zahrani.
In addition, the area around the Kfar Roummane-Midneh highway, the outskirts of Yohmor Al-Shaqif, Arnoun, Jabal Al-Tuffah, Jabal Al-Rihan, the outskirts of Sejoud, and the former Kfar Tebnit crossing point were also affected.
Heavy airstrikes were also reported in the eastern region of Tyre and the Litani River on the southern bank of Dlafy in southern Lebanon. The Israeli attacks have forced hundreds of people to flee their homes in Tyre and other areas in southern Lebanon towards the city of Sidon, according to Anadolu Agency correspondents.
“The Israeli aggression is a plan aimed at destroying Lebanese villages and towns and eradicating all green open spaces,” said caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati. (I-2)
