The Israeli Air Force says it has attacked around 30 targets in its northern neighbour Lebanon. The targets were rocket launchers belonging to the Lebanese Shiite militia Hezbollah and “terror infrastructure in the south of Lebanon that threatens Israeli civilians,” the military said. EU chief diplomat Josep Borrell is expected to arrive in Lebanon for political talks on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the army again reported numerous Hezbollah attacks with missiles and drones on northern Israel. Since the beginning of the war in the Gaza Strip between Israel and the Hezbollah-allied Islamist terrorist organization Hamas eleven months ago, there have been daily military confrontations between the Israeli army and Hezbollah in the border region between the two countries. There have been deaths on both sides – most of them were Hezbollah members. Hezbollah says it is acting in solidarity with Hamas.
