Israeli police crackdown on al-Aqsa mosque on Sunday Seventeen Palestinians were injured in clashes that erupted following police stormed a mosque while paving the way for Jewish visitors.
The Palestinian Red Crescent said five people had been hospitalized. A spokesman for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said Israel was fully responsible for the clashes in al-Aqsa. Israeli police say they entered the mosque to facilitate regular Jewish visits. Israeli police said nine people had been arrested. More than 100 Palestinians were injured in clashes between Israeli police and a mosque on Friday.
