BLOOMBERG reports that the Israeli Tax Authority estimates the financial losses caused by Iran’s recent bombings at between US$40 million and US$53 million. This makes it the most expensive attack since the start of the war.

Damage to the Israeli Air Force bases at Tel Nof and Nevatim, which were significantly affected, was not included in the calculation.

Because of this, the United States (US) imposed the latest sanctions on Iran targeting the country’s oil industry. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman condemned the new US sanctions.

Esmaeil Baghaei said in a statement on Sunday (13/10) that the ban was illegal and unjustified.

The US Treasury Department imposed new sanctions on Iran against a number of companies in the country’s oil and petrochemical industries in response to Tehran’s Oct. 1 attack on Tel Aviv.

Baghaei underlined Iran’s missile operation as a legal action based on international law and in line with the exercise of the inherent right to self-defense.

A Foreign Ministry spokesman condemned the US move to impose sanctions on several companies and ships over Washington’s claims of involvement in the transfer of Iranian oil products.

He called the sanctions a form of ransom for the rogue Israeli regime. (MEE/Press TV/Z-2)
