The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported today, Sunday, that “Israel targeted with a missile from the air a civilian truck near the Syrian-Lebanese border within an area overlapping between the governorates of Homs and the Damascus countryside, during the early morning hours, which led to the killing of at least two people, according to the information it obtained.” The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the two dead were of Lebanese nationality and members of Hezbollah.

Since the beginning of 2024, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has counted 16 times during which Israel has targeted Syrian territory, 10 of which were air strikes and 6 ground strikes. These strikes resulted in the injury and destruction of regarding 34 targets, including weapons and ammunition depots, headquarters, centers, and vehicles.

These strikes caused the death of 35 soldiers, in addition to wounding 13 others with varying injuries. The dead were:

– 7 Iranian nationals from the Revolutionary Guard

– 8 from Lebanese Hezbollah

– 3 of Iraqi nationality

– 8 of the groups affiliated with Iran are of Syrian nationality

– 4 of the groups affiliated with Iran are of non-Syrian nationality

– 5 unidentified people

In addition, 9 civilians, including a woman, were martyred in Israeli attacks.

The targets were distributed as follows: 8 for Damascus and its countryside, 5 for Daraa, 2 for Homs, and 1 for Quneitra.

The Syrian Observatory indicates that “Israel may target more than one governorate at a time, which explains the discrepancy in the number of times with the number of targets.”
