JERUSALEM: Israeli soldiers wounded in the ground war with Hamas in Gaza refused to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Israel’s Channel 13 reports that the incident took place at Hadasha Hospital on Wednesday.

‘I was under treatment at Hadasha Hospital. At this time the medical officer asked if he wanted to see the Prime Minister. Of course I said no’ – said the unnamed soldier.

Out of the 18 injured soldiers, 15 took the stand that the Prime Minister should not come to their room. I am in Jerusalem, the stronghold of Netanyahu’s Likud party. Here the change is evident. The time of the Likud party is coming to an end’ – said the soldier.

Meanwhile, hospital sources denied the incident. ‘Netanyahu came to the wounded. They received him with great enthusiasm. He made it clear to the injured soldiers that Israel is committed to achieving total victory’ – hospital officials said.

Reports emerged last week that wounded soldiers refused to see Netanyahu. The incident took place at the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Aviv.

According to the figures released by the Israeli army yesterday, 164 people have been killed and 874 injured in the attack by Hamas. Out of this, 329 people are seriously injured.

After the Hamas attack on October 7, there has been a huge protest once morest Netanyahu in Israel. There is also criticism that the government is not providing adequate care to the injured soldiers.
