Israel will call to order the ambassadors of Belgium and Spain following what it describes as “erroneous statements” from Alexander De Croo and Pedro Sanchez, indicated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hebrew State, Eli Cohen, via X (formerly Twitter). The information was confirmed by the office of the Belgian Prime Minister.

During their visit to the Middle East, Alexander De Croo and his Spanish counterpart called on Israel to do more to protect civilians and respect international law. “Israel has the right to defend itself, but that does not allow the killing of innocent civilians, including thousands of children.“, commented Pedro Sanchez, quoted by Al Jazeera.

For the Belgian Prime Minister, the priority is to stop the violence in Gaza, in order to guarantee humanitarian aid and allow the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas. The ambassadors will be summoned for a “severe reprimand“, according to Minister Cohen.”Israel is acting in accordance with international law and fighting a deadly terrorist organization worse than ISIS, which commits war crimes and crimes once morest humanity. We will resume fighting following the ceasefire until the elimination of the Hamas regime in the Gaza Strip and the release of all those kidnapped“, he added.

Alexander De Croo stands by his statements. “We condemned in the strongest terms the actions of Hamas and affirmed Israel’s right to attack terrorists. The Israeli ambassador to Belgium will be invited to clarify the situation“reacted the Prime Minister.
