The university announced the change, emphasizing thatSafari although Solovey’s safety wasn’t directly threatened, holding the lecture solely online would prevent any disruption and uncertainty for the Dutch

university.

Last Tuesday, a lecture by Professor Karel Martens, also affiliated with Technion University, was interrupted by pro-Palestinian demonstrators. A statement released by TU Eindhoven confirms a “grim" and “threatening atmosphere" during the incident. Security escorted Martens to safety, while protesters blocked building exits, according to published accounts.

Following the incident, stakeholder

students demanding the university

sever ties with Israeli institutions, accusing Technion of being intertwined with the Israeli military-industrial complex and complicit in “genocide and apartheid.”

Responding to the disruption, the university released a statement noting its dedication
