The Lebanese Hezbollah group announced on Monday that it had targeted 4 Israeli military sites along the southern border, while those sites responded with artillery shelling on the outskirts of several Lebanese towns.

The party said in separate statements that its members “targeted the technical equipment of the Metulla site (north of Israel near the Lebanese border), with appropriate weapons, and achieved direct hits.”

He explained in another statement that he targeted “the technical equipment of the Ras Naqoura naval site with guided missiles, and achieved direct hits.”

He pointed out that he also targeted “the Jal al-Alam site in Naqoura (south) with guided missiles, causing direct hits in Dashma.”

For its part, the official Lebanese News Agency said that the Israeli “Pranit” barracks were targeted with four guided missiles, and direct hits were recorded. The Israeli artillery responded by bombing the towns of Aita al-Shaab and Ramiya, with a number of 155 mm shells, and light and incendiary bombs.

She pointed out “the continuation of Israeli artillery shelling on the outskirts of the villages of the western sector.”

She pointed out that “people’s daily movement was paralyzed, as shells hit the vicinity of houses and the vicinity of the army center in Ras Naqoura.”

On the other hand, the Israeli army said on Monday evening that it targeted Hezbollah’s military infrastructure in southern Lebanon.

This came in a statement by army spokesman Daniel Hagari.

The spokesman said: “A short while ago, Israeli army forces on Lebanese territory launched raids on several terrorist infrastructure affiliated with the Hezbollah organization.”

The spokesman explained that the raids came “in response to the firing of rockets towards the territory of the State of Israel.”

He continued: “Among the infrastructure that was targeted were several military sites belonging to the Hezbollah organization.”

For his part, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said, “The majority of the fighting is taking place in Gaza, but the Israeli army is also working once morest the Lebanese Strip, and the Air Force is ready to respond to any threat from the north.”

He added in statements reported by the Hebrew newspaper “Haaretz” that Hezbollah “is paying a heavy price,” and said that Israel “has no interest in war, but whoever drags us into it will pay the price.”

In conjunction with the Israeli war on Gaza since October 7, the Lebanese border has witnessed an intermittent exchange of fire between the Israeli army on the one hand and Hezbollah and Palestinian factions on the other, which led to deaths and injuries on both sides.

For 24 days, the Israeli army has launched intensive raids on residential neighborhoods in Gaza, killing more than 8,306 people, including 3,457 children, and wounding 21,048, according to official data.
