Israeli media: The army has prepared plans to respond to the Iranian attack

Israel – Israeli Army Radio reported that the army has prepared plans to respond to Iran, in light of mounting Israeli assurances that the response will be “deadly and sudden” about two weeks after the Iranian attack on Israel.

Army Radio explained that the decision to implement these plans awaits political approval, while Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said that he was “satisfied with the proposed Israeli plans to respond to the Iranian attack.”

Over the past few days, the government of Benjamin Netanyahu has been threatening Iran with a “harsh, painful and violent response” to the attack it launched at the beginning of this month on military bases and installations in Israel.

The Israeli army also acknowledged earlier that the Iranian missile strike caused damage to some of its air bases, then said that preparations to respond to Tehran were continuing, while press reports said that the Iranian attack was greater than what Tel Aviv reported.

For its part, the American television network NBC reported the day before yesterday, Saturday, that American officials expressed their belief that Israel has identified targets in its expected response to the recent Iranian attack, amid expectations that “the response may come during the current Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur.”

The NBC report, citing unnamed American officials, stated that there was no indication that Israel would target nuclear facilities or carry out assassinations, adding that Israel had not made final decisions on how and when to respond.

This comes as Iran awaits a possible Israeli attack on it, after its attack on Israel about two weeks ago, in response to the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran late last July, and Tel Aviv’s announcement of its assassination of Hassan Nasrallah in the southern suburb of Beirut late last September.
