The official Lebanese News Agency said that phosphorus and smoke bombardment included the eastern side of the towns of Hula and Markaba, which overlook the Hunin Valley and the Margaliot colony.

Golani Brigade

In turn, Hezbollah announced that it had detonated an explosive device with an Israeli force from the Golani Brigade at dawn today, before targeting it with artillery shells, while it was trying to infiltrate Lebanese territory from Khirbet Zarit, opposite the town of Ramia.

Hezbollah also targeted the Zarit barracks and its surroundings with artillery. Yesterday, Hezbollah announced that it had carried out 7 attacks once morest Israeli sites, off the southern border of Lebanon and in the occupied Kfar Shuba hills.

Earlier today, the Israeli Magen David Adom (the ambulance service) reported that one person was killed and 7 others were injured when an anti-tank missile fired from Lebanon fell on the Margaliot settlement in northern Israel.

Limited war

On the political level, the US President’s senior advisor, Amos Hockstein, said today that in the event of a “limited war” breaking out across the southern border of Lebanon; They will not be “containable”.

Hochstein arrived today in Beirut on a one-day visit, where he will meet with a number of Lebanese officials to discuss possible ways to calm the situation in the south of the country.

Hockstein is scheduled to meet caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, in addition to Foreign Minister Abdullah Bouhabib and Army Commander Joseph Aoun.

This is Hochstein’s third visit to Lebanon since the outbreak of confrontations between Hezbollah and the Israeli army on October 8.

Hezbollah has been exchanging fire with Israel for months in parallel with the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. This represents the worst conflict across Lebanon’s southern border since the 2006 war, raising fears of a larger confrontation.
