Israeli-Lebanese Conflict: Attacks, Missiles, and Artillery Shelling on Radar Site and in Southern Lebanon

Hezbollah announced on Wednesday that it had targeted an Israeli radar site in southern Lebanon, causing direct hits.

Hezbollah said in a statement that “its members targeted the Israeli radar site (opposite the Lebanese towns of Shebaa and Kafr Shuba) with appropriate weapons and achieved direct hits.”

In total, Wednesday’s operations, the party announced the implementation of 11 operations on Israeli sites, in successive statements.

On the other hand, an Israeli drone targeted a house in the town of Mays al-Jabal with a missile, and the center of the town of al-Fardis was subjected to Israeli artillery shelling, without causing any casualties.

In addition, the Lebanese army found a group of missiles prepared for launch in the Khiam Plain – Marjayoun, southern Lebanon, and dismantled them before launching them.

Continued shelling from southern Lebanon

For its part, the official Lebanese News Agency reported that “Israeli artillery shelling targeted the outskirts of the towns of Shihin and Al-Jebin in the western sector (southern Lebanon).”

Sirens sounded once more in northern Israel on Wednesday, as rocket shells continued to be fired from Lebanon.

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said: “The Israeli army responded by firing artillery fire following a Hezbollah missile was fired at an Israeli army position in the Western Galilee, and it landed in Lebanese territory.”

Army Radio also reported sirens sounding in the “Western Galilee” near the Lebanese border.

In a related context, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority said on Wednesday that more than 10 missiles were launched from the Gaza Strip towards the city of Beersheba in southern Israel.

This came in conjunction with the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed arm of the Hamas movement, announcing in a statement via Telegram that it had bombed “occupied Beersheba with a missile salvo, in response to the massacres once morest civilians.”

The Authority stated (officially) that “warning sirens sounded on Wednesday in Beersheba, southern Israel, following monitoring the launch of more than 10 rockets from inside the Gaza Strip.”

It confirmed that “the sound of sirens was accompanied by sounds of explosions resulting from an attempt to intercept the missiles,” without indicating any injuries or damage.

The authority noted that sirens also sounded in a number of Israeli settlements surrounding the Gaza Strip.
