The armed wing of the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas on Sunday accused Israel of delaying a prospective deal brokered by Qatar. According to AFP and Archyde.com reports, Abu Ubaida, spokesman for the Hamas armed wing “al-Qassam Brigades”, said in an audio file uploaded to the group’s Telegram channel , “Qada’s mediation led to the release of 100 Israeli hostages in exchange for 200 Palestinian children and 75 women held in Israeli prisons.”

“We told the mediators that we might release these hostages if a five-day truce was obtained and supplies and humanitarian aid were delivered to our people across the Gaza Strip,” Óbeda said in the recording. The enemy is using delaying tactics.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told US media on the 12th that there “may be” an agreement to release hostages from Gaza, but he did not provide any details.

Hamas raided Israel on October 7. Israeli officials said regarding 1,200 people were killed and regarding 240 people were taken hostage, including at least 30 minors.
