The occupation bombed agricultural lands near the Egyptian-Palestinian border in the Al-Salam neighborhood of Rafah.

The day before Sunday, the government media office in Gaza declared that the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip “welcome the holy month of Ramadan with more war of famine, displacement, killing, siege and genocide, in a terrible crime against humanity committed by the Israelis.”

Israeli leaflets calling on the hungry to feed those who are hungrier than themselves

Palestinians have denounced the dropping of leaflets by Israel on Gaza during the holy month of Ramadan as amounting to “psychological torture”.

The leaflets call on citizens to “feed the needy and speak kindly” at a time when hundreds of thousands of people in the besieged territory are going hungry due to the Israeli blockade on food and water supplies, while At least 25 Palestinians died of dehydration and malnutrition.

The leaflet, written in Arabic, features images of lanterns typically used as decorations for Ramadan.

It reads a prayer asking God that “the fast be accepted and sins forgiven” and that Palestinians in the region have a “delightful breaking of the fast”.

May el-Sadany, a human rights lawyer, called the move “deeply depraved,” adding that Israel was “responsible for the starvation of the Palestinian people.”

Palestinian journalist Hebah Jamal called it “psychological torture.”

“Feed the needy? And therefore, the entire population of Gaza? Which they can’t do because Israel cut off their food supply,” another X user replied.

Ramadan begins in Palestine as around two million Palestinians in Gaza have been expelled from their homes and towns and forcibly displaced according to the United Nations. Most of them are refugees in displacement camps, schools and makeshift shelters, but still targets of Israeli raids and bombings.
