THE Disaster Risk Management Unit AUTHORITY said in a report that the number of injured victims reached 5,410 and the number of evacuees registered in approved shelters increased to 77,100 people as of Wednesday (25/9) afternoon local time.

Reported by Anadolu, Friday (27/9), the report stated that shelters in public facilities had increased to 565, including public schools, educational complexes, vocational institutions and agricultural centers. They noted that thousands more people had traveled by air or across Lebanese territory to Syria, and the agency estimates the actual number far exceeds the official number.

The statement indicated that over the past two days, General Security authorities recorded the entry of 15,600 Syrians and 16,130 Lebanese citizens into Syrian territory. Regarding Israeli attacks, the report stated that since Monday, there had been 7,034 airstrikes or bombings, 248 phosphorus bombs and 133 incidents of gunfire.

Israel has pounded Lebanon since Monday morning in attacks that have killed at least 677 victims and injured more than 2,500 people, according to figures released by the Health Ministry. The Lebanese resistance group Hezbollah and Israel have been involved in a cross-border war since the start of Israel’s attack on Gaza, which has killed more than 41,500 victims, mostly women and children, following a cross-border attack from the Palestinian Hamas on October 7, 2023.

The international community has warned Israel not to carry out attacks on Lebanon because the attacks raise concerns about the spread of the Gaza conflict regionally. (I-2)
