The Israeli army confirmed, on Wednesday evening, that an “error” was behind reports of suspected “air infiltration” from Lebanon, ruling out the hypothesis of any major incident occurring near the border.
Army spokesman Daniel Hagari said in a televised statement: “There has been no launch so far from Lebanon,” explaining regarding the warning that was issued previously, “This was an error that we are investigating (…) We will verify whether it was a technical malfunction or a human error.”
The Israel Emergency Warning Service application showed alerts being issued across northern Israel warning of an aircraft attack.
The Israeli public broadcaster (Radio Kan) reported that projectiles fell in the north and that a Archyde.com TV crew saw a house being bombed.
This news comes following Hezbollah fired anti-tank missiles towards an Israeli military site earlier, Wednesday, and claimed that the attack resulted in the killing and wounding of soldiers.
The Israeli army confirmed the attack, but did not comment on possible casualties.
The Israeli army bombed the area from which the attack was launched in southern Lebanon.
