Israeli airstrike on al-Nusirat camp, 31 Palestinians killed

Gaza The Israeli Civil Defense Agency said on Sunday that Israelis attacked a house in a refugee camp in the middle of the Palestinian territory Air strikes 31 people died.

Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson of Gaza’s Civil Defense Agency, told reporters that ‘Civil Defense personnel evacuated 31 martyrs and 20 wounded from the house of Hassan’s family, who were targeted by Israeli occupation forces in Nusirat camp.’

The spokesman said that rescue workers are busy searching for missing persons buried under the debris.

Earlier on Sunday, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital said it had received the bodies of 20 people killed in the attack. Eyewitnesses say that the attack was carried out around 3 am local time.

When contacted by AFP, the Israeli military sought details of the attack.

According to Wafa, the official Palestinian news agency, several children are among the injured.

Heavy Israeli shelling has been reported in the central Nusirat camp since the Israeli army launched a ground operation in the southern city of Rafah in early May.

Clashes have also been going on for several days between fighters and Israeli soldiers in the Jabalia camp in northern Gaza.

Eyewitnesses say that several other houses were also targeted in the overnight airstrikes in Gaza. During the night some parts of Rafah were also bombarded by airstrikes and cannons.

The Israeli army says that two more soldiers were killed in Gaza yesterday.

The Israeli military in Gaza said that 282 soldiers have been killed in the Gaza military campaign since the ground operation began on October 27.
