The attack was carried out against the Rufaida school, which has been transformed into a shelter for those displaced by the conflict and is located near the headquarters of the Palestinian Red Crescent in Deir al Balah.

The Israeli military has not yet taken responsibility for the attack, although in recent weeks it has admitted to carrying out bombings on schools where it claims Hamas militants were hiding.

Yesterday, an Israeli attack targeting a hospital in the northern Strip, where the Army has been carrying out a new offensive for several days, resulted in at least 15 deaths.

According to Wafa, which cites local medical sources, the dead in Rufaida include women and children, and there are still several injured in critical condition.

The victims are being taken to the Martyrs of al Aqsa hospital, located in Deir al Balah, where some patients are receiving treatment on the floor due to lack of space, as seen in videos shared on social networks by Palestinian media.

Since the start of the war, more than 42,000 people have lost their lives in continuous Israeli attacks on the devastated enclave, according to authorities in the Strip, which is under the control of the Islamist group Hamas.
