For more than two weeks, the southern Lebanese border has witnessed an intermittent exchange of fire between the Israeli army on the one hand and Hezbollah and Palestinian factions on the other hand, coinciding with the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which has reached its twentieth day, leaving thousands of martyrs and wounded and massive destruction in the Strip.

Bombardment with phosphorous shells on southern Lebanon

The National News Agency in Lebanon reported that the southern city of Tire witnessed Israeli reconnaissance and military aircraft overflights more than once on Thursday morning, and fires are still burning in the vicinity of Aita al-Shaab due to Israeli bombardment with phosphorous missiles.

This morning, Hezbollah mourned two of its members, Hussein Muhammad Ali Hariri from the city of Nabatieh, and Ali Ibrahim Jawad from the town of Labaya in the Bekaa.

Yesterday evening, Israeli fighters launched a series of raids on the areas between the towns of Rmeish and Yaroun in the central sector of southern Lebanon, as well as Tallet Nahas in the eastern sector.

Ambulances, accompanied by the Lebanese Army and UNIFIL forces, headed to the upper town of Yaroun at night, and it was reported that a number of martyrs and wounded were withdrawn from the targeted location.

Al-Arabi’s correspondent from the south, Muhammad Al-Haji, confirmed yesterday evening that the Israeli army intercepted a surface-to-air missile launched from Lebanon, which was targeting an occupation army drone.

Yesterday followingnoon, Hezbollah targeted the sites of Al-Bayad, Al-Malikiyah, and Hadab Al-Bustan, in addition to the town of Avivim, with anti-tank missiles, and published a video documenting the targeting of the Al-Manara site and the Pranit barracks on the Israeli side.

Missiles on Galilee

From Upper Galilee, Al-Arabi correspondent Christine Rinawi reported that 4 rockets fell near the Kiryat Shmona settlement.

Rinawi pointed out that most of the areas were completely evacuated, as part of the security plan that was drawn up to evacuate the Israeli outposts along the border line.

These developments are occurring in areas called the “Galilee Finger,” which is a geopolitical term given to the area of Israel’s northeastern border track due to the finger-like shape of this track.

This area includes more than 25 Israeli settlements, and during the past few days, most of the settlers were evacuated following the occupation authorities approved an evacuation plan, following the escalation of developments on the common border.
