The attack struck early Wednesday morning, and according to a Hezbollah source, was aimed at the town of Baalbek and a village nearby. Eight children and a pregnant woman are said to be among the injured. Five of the children came from the same family.
The same morning, the Israeli military (IDF) reported that around 50 rockets had been fired from Lebanon at the Golan Heights. One person was wounded and two homes were hit, the IDF says, according to Haaretz.
A few hours earlier, Lebanese health authorities stated that four people had been killed in Israeli attacks in the village of Dhayra in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah has stated that four of the group’s members were killed in an attack in the area.
Also on Monday, Israel carried out attacks against the Bekaa valley – attacks which, according to Israel, hit the weapons stores of the Iranian-backed Hezbollah militia.
On Tuesday evening, Hezbollah responded with a series of rocket and drone attacks against the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
According to the Israeli military, they identified 115 “projectiles” fired from Lebanon, most of which were intercepted by Israel’s air defense. No deaths or injuries have been reported in these attacks, only some fires.
According to Lebanon’s Ministry of Health, Israel has also attacked health workers in southern Lebanon, which is met with strong condemnation. Three health workers working for a Hezbollah-affiliated ambulance service in southern Lebanon were injured and the ambulance they were riding in was destroyed, according to the report.
