A former senior US defense official has revealed that Israel is facing a shortage of interceptor missiles in the wake of ever-escalating tensions with Lebanon and Hezbollah’s firing of dozens of missiles.
Former Defense Ministry official Dana Stroll explained that while Israel was working to strengthen its air defenses against possible attacks by Iran, it was faced with a shortage of interceptor missiles. If Iran and Hezbollah attack Israel at the same time, the Israeli Air Force could be exhausted.
He pointed out that the US cannot continue its supply efforts to Ukraine and Israel indefinitely.
According to the report of the British newspaper “Financial Times”, Israel’s resources have reached a critical level.
This statement is consistent with an analysis by the American magazine “Foreign Affairs” published last September, which revealed that Israel faces a major challenge.
After months of complex fighting in the Gaza Strip against Hamas, Israel is severely short of equipment.

The magazine pointed out that the Israeli army admitted last July that it was facing a tank shortage as a result of losses in the Gaza Strip.
The report explained that shortages include ammunition and spare parts due to pressure on supplies.
Notably, Israel relies on US military aid to fill gaps in its air defense system.
In view of the possibility of regional tension, Washington has announced to strengthen the Israeli air defense by deploying the THAAD missile defense system.
This revelation came at a time when Israel has widened the scope of the war from Gaza to Lebanon since September 23.
