Israel continues its strikes on the Gaza Strip, telecommunications are cut
The Israeli army reported “fighting” during the night, notably in the Choujaya sector, in the north of the Gaza Strip, where earlier this week it suffered its heaviest losses since the start of its land offensive (10 soldiers killed in one day). “There will be more difficult battles in the coming days,” warned military spokesperson Daniel Hagari as strikes continued on the territory where telecommunications are once once more cut “due to the ongoing aggression.” according to the Palestinian operator Paltel. The cut in telecommunications complicates the work of rescuers, which will have the effect of “increasing the number” of victims in the raids, Hamas has accused.

Houthi rebels claim attack on cargo ship
The Houthis have claimed responsibility for an attack on a cargo ship in the Red Sea, a new episode in their campaign aimed at disrupting traffic on this strategic sea route. The Yemeni rebels announced in a press release that they had carried out a “military operation once morest a container ship, the Maersk Gibraltar”, which was heading towards Israel, “by targeting it with a drone”. They claim that the ship was hit head-on, adding that they acted in response “to the oppression of the Palestinian people”.
But a US official said the missile “missed the ship” and fell into the water. “There were no injuries or damage (…) Although this incident does not involve American forces, we continue to closely monitor the situation because these attacks threaten international maritime security,” indicated the Military Command American in the Middle East (Centcom).
The Danish maritime transport giant Maersk confirms that one of its container ships, the Maersk Gibraltar, was the victim of an “incident”. “We are still working to establish the facts. The safety of our crew and our vessel is our top priority and all possible safety measures are taken to ensure that we keep them out of danger,” Maersk wrote in a statement.
