The total of monkeypox cases in Israel now stands at 208, with 11 new cases detected in the past four days, the country’s Health Ministry announced on Sunday.
More than 2,000 people at risk have so far been vaccinated in the country using a double-dose vaccine, the ministry noted.
At the end of July, Israel announced a vaccination program for populations at risk, with the shipment of 5,600 doses produced by the Danish company Bavarian Nordic. Another batch of 4,400 additional doses is expected to arrive in September.
The ministry added that it was considering expanding its vaccination criteria to use all doses received and to purchase additional vaccine doses.
