Israel orders evacuation of large parts of Gaza’s ‘humanitarian’ zone

Gaza – The Israeli army called on Palestinians in the eastern neighborhoods of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip on Monday to evacuate immediately, even though they are within the area that it previously claimed was humanitarian and safe.

Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee claimed in a statement that in light of numerous operations and the launching of rockets from the eastern part of the humanitarian zone, remaining in that area has become dangerous.

He added: “Therefore, the area will be adapted and the army calls on the residents who remained in the eastern neighborhoods of Khan Yunis to evacuate immediately to the newly created humanitarian area in Al-Mawasi.”

Two weeks ago, the Israeli army committed a massacre in the Al-Mawasi area, which it claims is safe, killing 90 Palestinians and wounding 300, in a series of raids targeting Palestinian tents and displacement sites.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has been waging a war on Gaza, resulting in more than 129,000 Palestinian deaths and injuries, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and deadly famine.

Tel Aviv continues this war, ignoring the UN Security Council resolutions to stop it immediately, and the International Court of Justice orders to end the invasion of the city of Rafah in southern Gaza, take measures to prevent acts of genocide, and improve the dire humanitarian situation in the Strip.
