Israel on the Brink: Netanyahu Unleashes Fierce Counteroffensive Against Hamas and Hezbollah Strongholds

Exactly one year after Hamas’ October 7 attacks on Israel sparked a spiral of war across the region, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called a special security meeting to commemorate the first anniversary of the massacres. On the occasion, the head of government of the Jewish state asked that the operation against Hezbollah and Hamas be called the “War of Rebirth”. This was reported by the Times of Israel, which states that Netanyahu said: “This is our war of existence, the ‘War of Rebirth’ and that is what I would like it to be officially called.”

According to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, the Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, and the Chief of Staff, Herzi Halevi, did not participate in the restricted meeting called by the Prime Minister, at the end of the extraordinary session of the Cabinet, which dealt with, among other things, the response to Iran. In this context, the fiery words of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emerge, vowing that Israel will pay a price for the “genocide” in Gaza. “We must not forget that Israel will sooner or later pay the price for this genocide that it has been carrying out for a year and which is still continuing,” he says on X.
