In a remarkable development on the Lebanon front, Al-Arabi’s correspondent reported that the Israeli occupation army launched a series of raids deep into Lebanon, specifically on the Baalbek district in the northern Bekaa, while Hezbollah responded by bombing occupation army positions in the Western Galilee.

Our correspondent pointed out that two martyrs and a number of wounded were killed in the Israeli raids that targeted the Al-Aleeq area and the town of Hosh Tal Safiya in Baalbek.

For its part, the occupation army reported that it was attacking Hezbollah targets deep in Lebanon, in response to Hezbollah shooting down an Israeli drone in southern Lebanon.

This is the first time that Israel has targeted the Baalbek District, deep in Lebanon, since the start of the confrontations between Hezbollah and the Israeli army on October 8.

After the Israeli bombing, Al-Arabi’s correspondent reported that missiles were fired from southern Lebanon towards Western Galilee, adding that occupation sirens sounded in Shtoula, Arab Al-Aramsha, and 6 other locations in Western Galilee.

This development comes following Israeli Security Minister Yoav Galant threatened yesterday, Sunday, to intensify the bombing targeting Hezbollah, even if a temporary truce is reached in the Gaza Strip.

Shooting down an Israeli drone

On Monday morning, Hezbollah announced that it had shot down an Israeli Hormuz 450 drone with a surface-to-air missile over the Iqlim al-Tuffah area in southern Lebanon, in addition to targeting an Israeli force near a military site off the border.

The party said in a statement, “The party’s air defense unit, at 9:20 (7:20 GMT) on Monday morning, shot down a large Israeli Hormuz 450 drone with a surface-to-air missile over the Iqlim al-Tuffah area. It was seen falling with the naked eye.”

Video clips spread on social media showing “an Israeli drone falling” over southern Lebanon.

The party reported in a separate statement today that it targeted an Israeli force at the Al-Baghdadi site (off the Lebanese town of Mays Lajbal) and its surroundings with missile weapons, achieving a direct hit.

A day following the occupation army launched a devastating war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, the Israeli-Lebanese border witnessed an exchange of fire between the Israeli army on the one hand, and Hezbollah and Palestinian factions on the other hand.
