Israel – The leader of the opposition in Israel, Yair Lapid, called yesterday, Saturday, for the overthrow of Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, considering that “what this country needs is for Netanyahu to be out of our lives.”
Addressing the demonstrators, Lapid said: “These are difficult days, and what this country needs more than anything else is for Netanyahu to be out of our lives.”
He added, “My mission is to do everything so that this power of yours turns into political change at the right moment.”
Lapid continued: “I promise you and I swear to you that we will continue to work until this is done. This government will fall.” This government will not last. We will return them to their homeland!” he said, referring to detainees in Gaza.
Many cities in Israel are witnessing thousands of protesters demonstrating to demand an urgent prisoner exchange deal and early elections.
Earlier Saturday, the families of Israeli prisoners in Gaza accused the Netanyahu government of “abandoning their children and letting them die,” after the Al-Qassam Brigades announced the death of Nadav Bublabel, 51 years old, their prisoner, who holds British citizenship, as a result of his injuries resulting from an Israeli bombing more than more than Month.

With the mediation of Qatar, Egypt and the United States, the Palestinian factions in Gaza and Israel have been conducting faltering indirect negotiations for months, to reach an agreement to exchange prisoners and stop the war on Gaza that broke out on October 7, 2023.
