Hamas launched a massive rocket attack on Tel Aviv and other areas of central Israel from the Gaza Strip on Sunday (26.05.24).
The rocket attack set off explosions in Tel Aviv, with Israel’s military saying the fire came from Rafah, while Hamas claimed responsibility in retaliation for IDF operations once morest the terrorist group’s weapons facilities.
The Jerusalem Post reports that the rockets were fired from Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. “Loud bangs were heard throughout Tel Aviv, Peta Tikva, Herzliya and Ramat Hasharon,” the relevant report states.
As the Israeli military claimed, 8 rockets crossed the border and several of them were shot down by air defenses.
At the same time, the war cabinet is meeting in the followingnoon to discuss efforts to secure the release of hostages held in the Gaza Strip.

“The War Cabinet is expected to meet in Jerusalem this followingnoon at 9:00 p.m. (6:00 p.m. GMT) to discuss a hostage release deal,” an Israeli official said, without elaborating.
