According to The Washington Post, the terrorist faction would release 50 or more women and children in exchange for a five-day truce; White House and Tel Aviv deny having concluded negotiations
SÃO PAULO, SP (FOLHAPRESS)
Israel, Hamas and the United States have reached an agreement for the terrorist group to release dozens of women and children hostages in the Gaza Strip in exchange for a five-day pause in the conflict, according to the American newspaper The Washington Post.
Citing people with knowledge of the matter, without naming them, the newspaper says that under the terms of the agreement, all sides involved would pause attacks for the five days so that 50 hostages or more are released in small groups every 24 hours. The deal might begin in the next few days, according to the newspaper.
The agreed pause would also be made to allow for a significant increase in the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, including fuel, across the border with Egypt.
According to the newspaper, the agreement was reached during weeks of conversations in Doha, Qatar, the country that mediates between the terrorist group and the United States and Israel. A spokesman for the Israeli embassy in Washington declined to comment.
The White House denied that there is already a ready-made agreement. “There is no agreement yet, but we continue to work hard to get one,” said Adrienne Watson, spokeswoman for the
White House National Security Council, in a statement.

Netanyahu also denied the existence of a deal at a press conference. “Regarding the hostages, there are many unproven rumors, many incorrect reports. I would like to make it clear: so far, there has been no agreement. But I want to promise: When there is something to say – we will inform you regarding it,” said the Israeli prime minister.
This Sunday (19), in a press conference, the Prime Minister of Qatar, Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, said that there were only “small practical and logistical challenges” remaining for the conclusion of the pact, without detailing what they would be.
The Israeli army killed two Palestinians in raids in the West Bank earlier this Sunday (19), Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
