According to World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, on average a child is killed every ten minutes in the Gaza Strip. Half of the 36 hospitals and two-thirds of the primary health care centers were not functioning and those that were operating were far beyond their capacity, the WHO director tells the 15-member UN Security Council and in a post on X , formerly Twitter. “The hospital corridors are overflowing with the injured, sick and dying. Overcrowded morgues. Operations without anesthesia. Tens of thousands of displaced people seeking shelter in hospitals,” said Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. Since October 7, the WHO has verified more than 250 attacks on health care in Gaza and the West Bank, while there have been 25 attacks on health care in Israel.

The Hezbollah militia in Lebanon says seven of its fighters have been killed in Israeli attacks. Hezbollah did not say when or where the fighters were killed. The Israeli army says it has attacked Hezbollah targets following three Israeli soldiers were “seriously injured” by anti-tank missile fire at a kibbutz on the border with Lebanon. According to the army, two other Israeli soldiers were injured by a crashed missile, one of them seriously.
