Talk continues about Iran, its allies, and its role in the region with the continuation of the Gaza war and the escalation of tension between Israel and Hezbollah. It and its allies are at the forefront of the political and military scene. As the escalation in the region continues, the axis of “resistance” or “resistance” that you lead is emerging. What is this axis? Who are the actors in it? What is its role today, and what is its relationship to Iran’s influence in the Middle East?

The “Axis of Resistance” is known as an alliance of groups opposed to Israel and American influence in the Middle East. Iran leads this axis, and it includes Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza, militias in Iraq, and the Ansar Allah Houthi group in Yemen.

In light of the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, there is a possibility that it will attract other Iranian-backed forces in the Middle East. As we mentioned earlier, Israel announced that it had struck Houthi targets in Yemen.

On Saturday, an alliance of Iraqi Shiite militias known as the Islamic Resistance in Iraq claimed to have carried out drone attacks on Israel and the occupied Golan Heights.

Both are part of a vast network of Iranian-backed armed groups operating in countries across the Middle East, which includes Hamas in Gaza.

These groups oppose Israel and the United States, and call themselves the “Axis of Resistance,” although the extent of Iran’s influence over them is not clear.

The United States says that coordination is supervised by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its foreign arm, the Quds Force, and the United States includes them on the list of terrorist organizations, as well as a number of regional armed groups.

These groups have significantly escalated their attacks against Israel, US forces, and other associated targets since the start of the war in Gaza in October last year, describing this as a show of solidarity with the Palestinians.

Israeli and US-led forces responded to some of these attacks with air strikes.
