UNITED NATIONS (UN) special rapporteur for Palestine Francesca Albanese said Israel was committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, after Israel bombed a school, killing at least 100 people.
“Israel is separately carrying out genocide against Palestinians in residential areas, hospitals, schools, refugee camps, and safe zones,” Albanese wrote on social media X on Saturday (11/8).
He even described Gaza as the largest and most severe concentration camp that occurred in the 21st century.
Albanese made the remarks after the Israeli military bombed the Al-Tabaeen school in the Al-Daraj settlement in eastern Gaza. According to Palestinian authorities, the attack has killed at least 100 people.
Albanese criticized the use of American and European weapons in the Israeli attack.
He said he was disappointed by the indifference of civilized countries to the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
“May the Palestinians forgive us for our failure to protect them or respect the most basic meaning of (international) law,” Albanese said. (Ant/Z-2)
