Israel claims to have bombed 280 targets in Lebanon and Gaza on Saturday

Friday evening and until Saturday evening, Israelis marked Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement.

– During the Yom Kippur weekend, the Israeli Air Force attacked around 280 terrorist targets belonging to Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Among these targets were underground infrastructure, weapons depots, military command centers and terrorist cells, the Israeli military (IDF) said in a statement on Saturday evening.

According to the Lebanese media, a market in the town of Nabatieh in southern Lebanon was hit by an Israeli attack on Saturday evening. It is not yet known whether anyone was killed or injured in the attack.

Earlier on Saturday, at least nine people were killed and dozens wounded in Israeli attacks on two villages outside Beirut, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.

In the north of the Gaza Strip, Palestinians tell of heavy Israeli attacks on Saturday evening, a few hours after at least 22 people were killed in several attacks, according to Palestinian sources. On Friday evening, at least 30 people were killed in an Israeli attack in Jabalia in the Gaza Strip.

According to the IDF, Hezbollah fired about 320 rockets and drones at Israel on Saturday, but says most were shot down by Israeli air defenses.
