Israel carries out dozens of airstrikes in southern Lebanon

Israeli army statedwhich on the night of September 20 struck 180 launchers ready to strike Israel in southern Lebanon.

According to the IDF, the military “struck approximately 30 Hezbollah launchers and terrorist infrastructure sites, where there were approximately 150 more launchers ready to fire shells toward Israeli territory.”

Three hours earlier, the Israeli army announcedwhich strikes targets of Hezbollah, a terrorist organization designated by Israel and the United States, saying the group has been planting weapons in civilian homes and digging tunnels underneath them for decades.

The bombing was the most intense since the start of the acute phase of the war in October 2023, reported Three sources in Lebanon’s security agencies told Reuters.

The massive strikes followed a two-day operation in Lebanon in which 37 people, including children, were killed by explosions in military vehicles. Israel has not officially commented on the operation, but military sources told the New York Times that Israel had been preparing the operation for several years.

The group fired rockets into Israel the day after the Palestinian group Hamas, designated a terrorist group by the US and the EU, attacked it in October 2023. Since then, there have been near-daily attacks on the border. Tens of thousands of residents have been evacuated from border areas on both sides.
