Israel attack on Khan Younis ‘mockery of humanity’: Pakistan

Gaza The Ministry of Health has said that in Khan Younis Israeli attacks 70 Palestinians died and more than 200 were injured.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif strongly condemned this attack and stressed in a statement on Monday night that the United Nations needs to fulfill its responsibility in relation to the solution of the Palestinian issue.

“It is a mockery of humanity to carry out such an aggressive attack immediately after giving evacuation instructions to the refugees in Khan Yunis,” he said.

He expressed regret that ‘the Palestinian refugees were not even given the opportunity to leave Khan Yunis.’

The Prime Minister said: ‘It is clear that the Israeli army is following the agenda of genocide of the Palestinians and the Pakistani nation stands side by side with its Palestinian brothers and sisters.’

The latest offensive by Israel came as its military warned it would launch a ‘coercive operation’ in the area.

After this Israeli warning, thousands of Palestinians have been forced to move from the eastern Khan Yunis sector of the al-Mawasi humanitarian zone in southern Gaza.

The Israeli military said it would take action to stop rocket fire in the area. At the beginning of this year, Israel carried out heavy attacks in Khan Yunis.

Nine days before the latest Israeli operation, 92 people were killed in an attack on the same area.

Gaza’s Ministry of Health said that 70 people were killed and more than 200 injured in Israeli attacks in Khan Yunis.

The Israeli military did not comment on the number when asked by AFP.

But in a statement, the Israeli military said its fighter jets and tanks had ‘killed and eliminated terrorists in the area.’

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is under pressure to reach an agreement on the ceasefire and the release of hostages, has arrived in Washington on Monday to address the US Congress.

Netanyahu will meet today with US President Joe Biden, who has urged him to agree to a cease-fire in the Gaza war that has lasted more than nine months.
