The Israeli army said, on Thursday, that security forces are raiding the homes of those accused of killing an Israeli officer, on Wednesday, in the West Bank.
The Israeli army said, “In the meantime, the security forces are raiding the terrorists who killed the late Major Bar Falah and arresting wanted men in the Judea and Samaria regions (the Israeli designation for the West Bank).”
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Authority’s Ministry of Health announced the killing of a Palestinian boy, Thursday, during clashes with the Israeli army in the northern West Bank, which has been witnessing tension for months.
The ministry said that Uday Salah, 17, was killed “as a result of being shot in the head” by Israeli forces during an operation in the village of Kafr Dan, near Jenin in the West Bank. Agency Palestinian News (Wafa).
On Wednesday, an Israeli officer and two Palestinian gunmen were killed, during a clash with machine guns between the gunmen and an Israeli military force near the village of Al-Jalama in the northern West Bank, according to the Al-Hurra correspondent.
Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid threatened to respond to what he described as an “escalatory plan” on the part of the Palestinian Authority.
Lapid said, on Wednesday, that “one of the terrorists works in the intelligence service of the Palestinian Authority. This is an escalation plan. Where the authority does not maintain order, we will not hesitate to act.”
He added: “The army and the Shin Bet are ready for any scenario to prevent terrorism. They are ready in all sectors, along with the police on the line of contact. Israel will severely harm anyone who tries to harm it.”
During the bloody clashes, on Wednesday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed the killing of two people, Ahmed Ayman Abed (23 years) and Abdul Rahman Hani Abed (22 years), from the village of Kafr Dan, west of Jenin.
A Palestinian security source confirmed to AFP that Ahmed Abed was a member of the Palestinian military intelligence in the northern city of Qalqilya.
