ISL; Sahal Abdul Samad may play in the final, while captain Adriel Luna may not

Malayalee superstar Sahal Abdul Samad will return to the team for the Kerala Blasters in the final of the eighth season of the Indian Super League. Earlier, there were reports that Sahal may not play in the final. Indications are that Captain Adriel Luna may not play. Adriel Luna did not attend the press conference before the final. The Blasters will take on Hyderabad tomorrow.

Sahal scored the winning goal for the Blasters against Jamshedpur in the first quarter of the ISL play-off. But Sahal was not even in the squad for the second quarter. After the match, coach Ivan Vukomanovich said that Sahal suffered a hamstring injury during training yesterday. Sahal arrived at the ground on Friday but had not been training.

The match will start at 7.30 pm in Goa. The Blasters, who play in the third final, and Hyderabad, who play in the first final, are aiming for the maiden title. The Blasters and Hyderabad won each match when they clashed in the league stage.

The Kerala Blasters reached the semi-finals by defeating Jamshedpur FC 2-1 in both quarters to clinch the League Winners’ Shield. Hyderabad FC beat last season’s runners-up ATK Mohan Bagan 3-2 to reach the final.

Kerala Blasters will not be able to wear the yellow jersey in the ISL final. Hyderabad can wear the home jersey as they score more points in the league stage. The Blasters will be wearing black and blue striped jerseys.
