The new season of ISL football will begin in Kochi. The opening match will be played between Kerala Blasters and Bengaluru FC on September 21. The date and schedule of the competition have not been officially announced.

This time, 12 teams will compete in the ISL, including Punjab FC, who have qualified from the I-League. Punjab’s first game is against defending champions Mohun Bagan. Goa FC will face Hyderabad FC in the first match. East Bengal will face Jamshedpur FC in the first match. Chennaiyin will face Odisha in the first round while Mumbai will face North East United.
Meanwhile, the Blasters-Bengaluru playoff match last season was controversial. The organizers aim to forget those memories and make a new start. As part of the pre-season preparations, Kerala Blasters reached the UAE. Blasters are holding a training camp in the UAE that will last until September 16. Blasters will play three friendlies against UAE Pro-League clubs.
