The two-time Olympic champion no longer wants to have anything to do with her home country. Journalists noticed that Isinbayeva even cleaned up her microblog.
The scandal that flared up a few weeks ago with 41-year-old Elena Isinbaeva, who moved to Spain permanently, seems to have begun to subside. However, today the athlete unexpectedly decided to add fuel to the fire by “cleaning up” her account on the Instagram platform banned in Russia*. As journalists from the Moskovsky Komsomolets publication noted, all joint photographs with the Russian president disappeared from there.
For example, until recently, one might find on the blog a photograph dated November 17, 2017, in which Isinbayeva was captured with Putin. “I’m on the Putin Team,” the athlete assured. “Now it’s impossible to find this photo of her on Isinbayeva’s page. It is unclear when and why this photo with the Russian President became unacceptable for her media image. Apparently, a “man of the world,” as the athlete calls herself, is not entitled to this,” Moskovsky Komsomolets sneers.
