Barbados: Despite India’s loss in the second ODI series once morest the West Indies, opener Ishan Kishan has achieved a rare record by actually surpassing Sachin Tendulkar.
Kishan holds the record for most runs in the first five matches as an opener – 348 runs. Sachin Tendulkar scored 321 runs in the first five ODIs as an opener. Shubman Gill scored 320 runs and K. Srikanth has also scored 261 runs.
Apart from this, Kishan also became the second Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to score two consecutive ODI fifties. In 2017, once morest the West Indies, M.S. Dhoni scored two ODI half-centuries in a row before this.
