Isabel dos Santos, the daughter of former Angolan President José Eduardo dos Santos, who died in July 2022, embezzled 52 million euros from Angola’s national oil company, Sonangol, a Dutch court has heard.

A sum from which she benefited Exem Energy BV, a company under Dutch law which she owned with her late husband, concluded the Chamber of Companies, a body under the Amsterdam Court of Appeal, in a decision dated June 15 and made public this Thursday.

” Many people [morales] cooperated in this disgraceful state of affairs which led […] [Isabel dos Santos] to fraudulently obtain 52.6 million euros in resources,” the court said in its judgment. The money would have been misappropriated through dividend payments.
