Regarding Apple’s smart watch “Apple Watch”, prominent analyst Minchi Kuo predicts that the installation of the thermometer function will be the timing of “Apple Watch Series 8” which will be released this year.
Apple Watch is equipped with advanced health care functions such as heart rate and electrocardiogram, but it has not been equipped with a thermometer function so far. On the other hand, smart watches and smart bands of other companies measure body temperature to provide hints for noticing changes in daily physical condition.

On the other hand, according to Minchey Kuo’s report, Apple has forgotten to install the thermometer function in the “Apple Watch Series 7” released last year. The reason for this is that the measurement algorithm has not reached a sufficient level. The temperature of the front side of the wrist where the smartwatch is worn is subject to change, so advanced algorithms are required.
However, this year’s Apple Watch Series 8 points out that if the thermometer function algorithm meets Apple’s requirements, it may finally be installed.
The inclusion of thermometer functionality in the Apple Watch Series 8 has also been reported by The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg. According to The Wall Street Journal, this sensor may be used for fertility. The thermometer function may be widely used, not just a change in physical condition.
