Windows 11 is getting new features for apps with Build 22624.1610 that was released today in the Beta Channel. Among the highlights, the biggest one is the addition of new APIs and settings for applications that use the presence sensor, which is integrated alongside the webcam in some notebook models.
The new configuration options for the presence sensor are available in the Settings > Privacy and Security > Presence detection menu, where the user can enable or disable access to the sensor by applications.
Despite this, Windows already uses these sensors to automatically wake up or turn off the computer as the user approaches or moves away from it, but now third-party applications installed by the user will also be able to use these sensors.
