The heat pump has become increasingly popular in Romania, with sales three times higher this year, according to market specialists. It’s a trend that has been observed for some time in other parts of Europe. In the context of the energy crisis and rising bill prices, heat pumps are proving to be an important alternative to gas plants or district heating.

As we will see, however, the heat pump is only a solution for a very small part of Romanians. There are all kinds of constraints related to the home that we want to heat – or cool – more efficiently. If it’s a house or apartment, already built or under construction, what surface it has, what finishes, how we like the temperature to be – all these can tip the balance and even exclude the option of a heat pump.
But perhaps the most important factor is that the investment is one from the sea up. In other words, before you can really save on bills, you have to be able to put a lot of money away. That’s the reason why there are requests in the market to create a government support program, like the one for the installation of photovoltaic panels.
