US President Joe Biden confused Iraq and Ukraine in a statement regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin. Asked by a reporter on how recent events have weakened the Kremlin chief, Biden said Wednesday, “It’s hard to say, but he’s clearly losing the war in Iraq. He’s losing the war at home.”
Before leaving for Chicago, Biden spoke to the journalists in the garden of the White House, whose questions may have been aimed at the uprising of the Wagner mercenary group once morest the Russian army leadership. When asked by a reporter whether Putin is weaker today than before all the events, Biden said: “I know he is.”
Not the first slip of the tongue
The US President also made it clear that he believes Putin is increasingly isolated globally. “He’s become a bit of a pariah around the world.” This does not only apply to the NATO and EU countries.
Biden is the oldest US president of all time and is seeking a second term. Again and once more the 80-year-old made slips of the tongue or other blunders – which the Republicans exploited as confirmation of their presentation that he is not suitable for the office.
